Referral Agencies

Local community groups, schools, social workers, GPs, health visitors, housing and advice agencies in the Rawmarsh area may already be able to provide assistance with a foodbank voucher.

If you have children attending school in Rawmarsh and require assistance with a foodbank voucher, please ask your local school if they can issue you with a referral to us.

Rotherham Citizens Advice can offer an assessment, advice and assistance with a foodbank voucher on 0808 278 7911 during their opening times : Mon-Fri 9am – 5pm.

If you are in financial crisis and live in England or Wales, please call 0808 2082138 for free (open Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm) to talk confidentially with a trained Citizens Advice adviser. They can help address your crises and provide support to maximise your income, help you navigate the benefits system, and identify any additional grants you could be entitled to. If needed, they’ll issue you with a voucher so you can get an emergency food parcel from your local food bank.

Rawmarsh foodbank works with a range of local agencies who meet people at risk of going hungry. Local community groups, schools, social workers, health visitors, housing and advice agencies are just some of those who can refer people to our foodbank by issuing them with a foodbank voucher. If you think that your organisation could help people by referring them to our foodbank, please get in touch with us to discuss becoming a registered voucher holder.

Please note: Only three vouchers per client can be fulfilled in a six month period, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Referral agencies will need as much information as possible to assess levels of need.

We would never want to turn away anyone who needs a food parcel but we would also not want to be in the position where in giving someone a fourth food parcel it meant someone was not able to receive a first one. We have needed to make this difficult decision to enable us to help as many people as possible, whilst monitoring our food stock levels.

Please remember we supply emergency food parcels, enough for three days and are not able to top up someone’s food stocks nor can we be used as a supermarket.
