June Newsletter 🌞

1 June 2026

As we head into summer, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible people who make Rawmarsh Foodbank what it is: our volunteers, supporters, donors, and wider community.

June is all about reflection and recognising the impact that kindness and community support can have on people’s lives.

Volunteer Spotlight: Dave 🌟

This month, we would like to give a very special mention to Dave 👏

Dave has been part of Rawmarsh Foodbank since the very beginning, back in November 2022 and has been a hugely valued member of our warehouse team ever since.

Over the years, Dave has spent countless hours sorting donations, organising stock in date order, supporting younger warehouse volunteers, and helping ensure sessions run each week smoothly.

Although Dave is now moving on to exciting new ventures and won’t be such a regular face at sessions, we’re delighted he’ll still be helping behind the scenes with fundraising. Thank you for everything you have done for RaFB.

Volunteers’ Week 2026 🙌

During June, we’ll also be celebrating Volunteers’ Week, an opportunity to shout from the rooftops about the incredible people who give their time and energy to support our community.

At Rawmarsh Foodbank, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. From welcoming clients and sorting donations to offering support and keeping sessions running, their dedication makes an enormous difference every single week.

To say thank you, we’re excited to be hosting a special volunteer celebration afternoon on 26th June with plenty of treats and appreciation for our amazing team 🎉

See the Impact in Your Local Area📍

Did you know you can now see the impact of foodbank use in your own community?

Trussell has created an interactive tool that allows you to enter your postcode and explore how many emergency food parcels have been distributed in your local area.

It’s a powerful way to better understand the reality many people are facing right now, and why support for food banks continues to matter so much.

👉 By sharing this tool, you can help raise awareness and encourage others to play their part in supporting people facing hardship.

Thank You

We are incredibly grateful for the continued support we receive from across our community, both financially and through food donations

It’s a tough time for so many, and we truly don’t take this support for granted.

Together, we are changing lives and seeing people step out of poverty and into a brighter future

RaFB is so much more than a Food bank. Every case is individual, and we always do our best to take a holistic approach, taking time to chat to people and establish their circumstances so that we can signpost them to help further.

You all play a key part in this process.

Thank you so much
