We have lots of exciting updates to share with you this month – from new projects launching in our community to celebrating our wonderful volunteers!
Just Meals Has Arrived at The Drop In Centre!
We are absolutely delighted to share some exciting news.
Rawmarsh Foodbank is now working in partnership with The Drop In Centre, S62 and Food Works Sheffield, and we are thrilled that The Drop In is now a hub for the Just Meals project.
Just Meals are environmentally-friendly ready meals created by Food Works in Sheffield. They are:
-
Made using quality surplus and locally grown ingredients
-
Frozen on site to retain flavour and quality
-
Designed to reduce food waste
-
Packed in 100% biodegradable and home compostable packaging
-
Suitable for microwave or oven heating
Not only are they a convenient and tasty alternative to conventional ready meals, but they also give back more to the planet than they take, helping to close the food sustainability loop in a practical way.
Just Meals can be purchased for a minimum donation of £1, making them affordable while supporting an important environmental initiative.

Official Launch 📅
Our official launch takes place on 11th March.
From then, Just Meals will be available to purchase at The Drop In Centre coffee morning every Wednesday from 11:30am–12:30pm.
As the project develops, there will be even more opportunities to access and purchase meals.
We are hugely excited about what this partnership will bring to our community and can’t wait to see it grow.

Can You Help Us?
Here at RaFB we are currently desperately short of strong ‘bags for life’.
Many of our clients walk to and from our sessions, so sturdy bags make a huge difference in helping them carry food home safely and with dignity.
If you have any bags for life that you are able to donate, we would be incredibly grateful. We simply ask that they are:
-
Clean
-
In good condition
-
Not too worn or damaged
Thank you in advance for your continued kindness and support.

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Catherine

This month we are delighted to shine the spotlight on Catherine.
Catherine joined the team at Rawmarsh Foodbank last June and has become an incredibly important part of our warehouse team. She consistently works hard, volunteers with us every single week, and is a fantastic team player.
Her passion for making a difference shines through in everything she does. Catherine is loved by the whole team and hugely appreciated for her commitment and dedication.
Thank you, Catherine. We are so grateful for you.
