🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Julia

This month, we want to shine a light on Julia, one of our amazing volunteers.

Julia has been with us at Rawmarsh Foodbank since we were founded back in November 2022. If you visit us on a Thursday, you’ll most likely find her at our Welcome Desk, greeting clients with warmth, booking people in, and helping everyone feel at ease.

But Julia’s support doesn’t stop there.

Behind the scenes, she is always willing and always ready to help — quietly supporting the smooth running of RaFB in so many ways. Her dedication, kindness, and reliability make a huge difference to both our team and the people we support.

We’d like to say a huge thank you, Julia, for your continued commitment and care. It truly is appreciated more than words can say.

🤝 Acts 435: Making a Life-Changing Difference

Acts 435 is an online giving charity that directly connects people who want to give with individuals who are in genuine need, through a trusted network of local churches and charities.

Rawmarsh Foodbank became a partner with Acts 435 last April, and the impact since then has been truly incredible, both locally and nationally.

In December alone, Acts 435:

• Helped 876 people

• Supported 711 live requests, all of which were met

• Was made possible by 721 generous donors

• Enabled £139,630 to be given directly to people in need

Because of this generosity, we have been able to support several Rawmarsh Foodbank clients with very real and urgent needs.

One individual had just one teaspoon and a single bowl to eat with, through Acts 435, we were able to provide cutlery, crockery, and essential kitchen equipment, restoring dignity and independence.

Another family, already in crisis, experienced a fridge/freezer breakdown, losing all of their food. Through Acts 435, we were able to help provide a replacement fridge/freezer, offering stability at a moment of real stress.

These acts of kindness are life-changing, restoring comfort, dignity, and hope when it’s needed most.

We are incredibly grateful for this partnership and for every donor who makes this support possible.
