August was a busy month at Rawmarsh Foodbank!
It has been another busy and positive month here at Rawmarsh Foodbank, with visits, team activities, new developments and plenty happening behind the scenes.
A Visit from Trussell
We were delighted to welcome Nathan Iles, Assistant Director of Operations at Trussell, along with Laura Chalmers, our Area Manager, on Thursday 6 August.
We really appreciated them taking the time to chat with both our clients and team members. It was a great opportunity to share more about how we run our sessions, the welcome people receive and, most importantly, the sense of community we have created at RaFB.
We were also able to talk about the importance of treating everyone who comes through our doors with dignity and respect, listening to their experiences and providing a safe and welcoming space where people can share the challenges they are facing.
A Sweet Visit to Chesterfield!
Some of the RaFB team had the opportunity to visit Dave, one of our team members, at his new sweet shop, Sweet Caroline, in Chesterfield.
It was like stepping back in time as we enjoyed looking at the wide variety of traditional sweets and treats on offer. Needless to say, we all came away with plenty of tasty goodies!
We're delighted to see Dave's new venture thriving and wish him every success with Sweet Caroline.

Can you believe it? Dare we mention the C-word already!
Behind the scenes here at RaFB, we are already starting to gear up for Christmas. Don't worry, we're not putting the decorations up just yet!
In next month's newsletter, we'll be sharing more about our Christmas Card Project, so keep an eye out for more information.

Volunteer Spotlight
Ann – Our Hospitality Queen!
This month, we're putting the spotlight on Ann, our wonderful Hospitality Queen!
Ann is with us every week at RaFB and takes responsibility for our hospitality table, making sure it is always well stocked with tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits.
But Ann's role is about so much more than keeping the table topped up. She helps make sure that everyone who visits RaFB is welcomed with a warm drink and a friendly face.
Her care, attention to detail and gentle nature are greatly appreciated by us all. It's often the little things that make such a big difference, and Ann's kindness helps create the warm and welcoming atmosphere that we want everyone at RaFB to experience.
A huge thank you, Ann, for your ongoing commitment to Rawmarsh Foodbank. Your time, care and kindness make a huge difference every single week, and we are so grateful to have you as part of our team.

Thank you!
As always, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all our volunteers, supporters, donors and everyone who helps RaFB continue to support our local community.
See you next month!
